A lot of water has flown under the bridge since Spring 2020: for the world, for everyone I know, in my own life and also in terms of DJ'ing. Wisely, I'll stick to the latter topic here. Off the top of my head, I know that all the gigs already booked went down the drain from March 2020: venues big and small closed their doors, weddings were endlessly postponed, and my head wasn't in the party mood for a while either.
Eventually, in 2022 and 2023, I spinned wonderfully and intensely again at (amongst other gigs) the Summertime Festival at De Grote Markt in The Hague, in July 2023 at the North Sea Jazz Festival and in the spring of 2024 at the Transition Festival in Tivoli and at the beloved JazzFest in Amsterdam.
After that, my life took a very special turn that prevented me from performing for several months. However, Sunday 11 January 2025 was equally special because that's when I took my place behind the “turntables” again for the first time, and it was great! After that I was able to build it up quietly and since April I have had all kinds of wonderful DJ gigs again, now behind me and still to come. In addition to the beloved monthly series in De Dillewijn in Ankeveen. Biggest surprise here is that I was recently invited (for the 5th time!) to the North Sea Jazz Festival, for Sunday, July 13 2025.

Er is heel wat water onder de brug gestroomd sinds voorjaar 2020. Voor de wereld, voor iedereen die ik ken, in mijn leven en ook wat betreft het DJ'n. Wijselijk houd ik het hier bij het laatste onderwerp. Uit mijn hoofd weet ik dat alle al geboekte optredens in het water vielen vanaf maart 2020: podia groot en klein sloten hun deuren, bruiloften werden eindeloos uitgesteld en ook mijn hoofd stond een poosje niet meer naar feestjes.
Uiteindelijk heb ik in 2022 en 2023 toch weer heerlijk en intens gedraaid o.a. op het Summertime Festival op De Grote Markt te Den Haag, in juli 2023 op het North Sea Jazz Festival en in de lente van 2024 op het Transition Festival in Tivoli en op het geliefde JazzFest in Amsterdam.
Daarna nam mijn leven een hele speciale wending waardoor ik een aantal maanden niet meer kon optreden. Echter, zondag 11 januari 2025 was al even speciaal omdat ik toen voor het eerst weer achter de 'draaitafels' plaatsnam, en het was geweldig! Daarna kon ik het rustig opbouwen en sinds april heb ik naast de geliefde serie in De Dillewijn te Ankeveen weer allerlei prachtige DJoptredens gekregen, nu al e.e.a. achter me en nog voor me. Grootste verrassing is wel dat ik onlangs (voor de 5e keer!) op het North Sea Jazz Festival ben uitgenodigd, te weten op zondag 13 juli 2025.
Ik ben blij en dankbaar, kijk even naar mijn agenda om uit te vinden waar ik te vinden ben!
